Making Alliances
Valley Mill Kayak School has teamed up with Pacuare Outdoor Center, an Eco Tourism company with the highest standards. This partnership allows us to provide international paddling programs that emphasize on the highest quality instruction and leaving the logistics to the local experts. To keep momentum, we will be offering two trips in March 2023. Each trip will be 8 days in length. The first and last will be a travel day to and from San Jose (SJO) Airport with airport transportation to Turrialba where POC is located.
Pacuare Outdoor Center has three different lodges ranging from way out there to having all of the comforts of home. Upon arrival to Turrialba, we will stay at the owner of POC, Tom Rainieri’s home where he has eco-tourism cabins on his property. Toms house will be our home away from home where we will enjoy family style meals, and discuss lesson planning.
Kayak/Gear rental is included in the cost. We recommend bringing your own PFD, Helmet, and Sprayskirt if you have equipment that you like. POC has many different options for kayaks.

March 4th-11th, 2023
March 4th, Day 1 --- Arrive at San José Airport & Drive to Turrialba
Valley! (Turrialba Vista):
Welcome to Costa Rica!!!
From the San Jose airport, you will be transported from the SJO airport to
your first hotel by your private guide and driver. Once you arrive at the
hotel, you will have a dinner/orientation where you will have a chance to
meet the rest of the group and have a debriefing of the week ahead from
your guide.
We ask that you arrive on an early afternoon flight to SJO San Jose no later
than 1 pm. If you decide to arrive a day earlier, we can arrange to pick you
up at your hotel, and group departure from San Jose SJO will be planned
for 2 pm on arrival day. (Meals: Dinner)
March 5th, Day 2 --- Pejibaye Scouting (Turrialba Vista):

Today you will be transferred to the San Jose (SJO) airport to arrive no
less than two hours prior to your flight. The airport hotel is just 5 minutes
from the San Jose (SJO) airport. (Meals: Breakfast )
